Sarah Thorneycroft is a creative jewellery artist in the Comox Valley handcrafting pieces to combine intricate organic textures, bright lines and bold shapes, using certified recycled sterling silver. Influenced by our oceans and the wild landscapes of Vancouver Island, Sarah's jewellery reflects the perfect geometry and ordered chaos found in nature. She believes in thoughtfully crafted, high quality pieces that directly support real people in a sustainable way.
I use traditional smithing methods in my studio and implement techniques such as hand engraving, imprinting local botanicals, reticulation, stone setting, enameling, wax carving and sand casting to make my jewellery. Some of my favourite pieces have been created with leaves from local trees that I'll press and dry, then imprint directly into sterling silver with a rolling mill. I use certified recycled sterling silver which I source directly from the refinery, and all my packaging is 100% recycled.
