Marianne Enhörning, a Swedish-born artist now based in Comox, BC, draws inspiration from her family heritage and the natural world surrounding her. With a background alternating between guiding kayaks on the West Coast and working in urban architecture, her art reflects her deep connection to nature and her longing for a more inclusive and just world. Her work often features small figures amidst vast natural landscapes, highlighting the beauty of the environment and the insignificance of humankind in comparison. For Marianne, painting serves as a voice to express emotions and passions beyond the reach of words, allowing her to create art that resonates with her true being.
I create from my little studio in downtown Comox. My paintings, both large and small, are abstract interpretations of nature. I work primarily on raw canvas, with frames made by my husband, or sourced locally from Canadian companies. In addition to selling my original paintings, I also sells prints, cards and calendars featuring my art.
