Jorge Izaza Wood Art and Lamps

BIO

I am a Mexican-Canadian wood craft artist who is passionate about creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces that showcase the natural beauty of wood. With over a decade of experience in woodworking, I have honed my craft to create intricate and stunning works of art that are both functional and aesthetic. Born and raised in Mexico, my early exposure to the rich culture and artistry of my homeland had a profound impact on my creative outlet. After immigrating to Canada, I continued to develop my skills, combining traditional woodworking techniques with modern design principles to create pieces that are both timeless and contemporary. Some of my pieces have found homes in private collections around the world. Whether it's a custom-made LED Lamp, a fine jewelry box or a hand-carved wooden sculpture, my passion for wood craft is expressed thorugh my craft.

CRAFT

My products are functional wooden ambient lamps with LED strips. Made with highquality locally sourced sustainable wood, it is either recyled/refurbished wood or I collect and dry it myself. I sculpt the design with powertools and manually in my workshop. The LED strips are carefully positioned within the lamp to provide just the right amount of soft, warm light, including a dimmer to adjust the lighting. My lamps are also energyefficient, using LED technology to consume less power while providing ample lighting. I finish my pieces using natural finishes, such as oils and waxes, which not only enhance the beauty of the wood but also protect it from wear and tear. My production process and materials reflect my commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation in the field of wood art.
