In 2017, Danica embarked on her ceramics journey, inspired by her childhood passion for photography and a desire to explore texture and light. After studying Professional Photography at North Island College and traveling extensively, she found her true calling in ceramics. Completing her studies at the Kootenay School of Studio Arts in 2021, despite the challenges of the pandemic, Danica honed her skills as a production thrower and apprentice. Now, as the founder of Danica Ceramica based in Nanaimo, BC, she creates functional ceramics that embrace the natural beauty of clay and the art of handcrafting everyday objects.
Danica Ceramica is a collection of functional ceramic wares designed to capture and celebrate clay as a material and the intimate process of a hand making an object.
