The Ranters are an Americana/Roots duo from Shawnigan Lake, Vancouver Island. They consist of Rockland Moran, Gillian Wale and Fred Weber. The CD “Rant On, Children” consists of nine originals and one traditional song. It focuses on vocal harmonies, as well as the instruments: guitars, mandola, and autoharps. The Ranters have travelled down the Pacific West Coast doing gigs along the way and enjoying the social intimacy of private house concerts. They attended a California festival last year in Dunlap, California. A beautiful setting in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas was the location to mingle, sing, perform and thoroughly enjoy the company of fellow professional musicians. They also attended Seattle Autoharp Gatherings in previous years, where they performed and Gillian received autoharp instruction from Bryan Bowers, an American autoharp legend. Rockland and Gillian love to climb the occasional pyramid in Mexico, when there’s a chilly west coast winter.
