Mary Murphy is a touchstone to the ancient land of Ireland. Her authenticity brings first-generation immigrants home again, gifts those with Irish roots a taste of inheritance, and ushers those who wish they were a wee bit Irish into an ephemeral union. Her creative fire is billowed by both a literary and musical wind. She is a prolific musician, writer and recording artist - with twelve musical releases and six books under her belt (one of which has just been a finalist in an International Book Award). The majority of her musical CDs include a lovely helping of her native Irish language. Her precise vocal characteristics and whistle-playing have been added to countless artistic projects (including a feature film). She will be accompanied by talented guitarist/engineer/producer husband, Paul Keim, who adds stringed instruments to Mary’s performances, creating the vital foundation from which Mary can spring.
