Coral Barclay

Northwest coast landscape painter

Oil paintings of light and colour...
I grew up on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, where our family lived in a small cabin by the sea. I am not sure what childhood has to do with influence on as an artist, but I suspect LOTS! We lived in a beautiful place, and what inspires me the most today is visiting wonderful landscape when the light is just "right" and then painting from my experience. The world is a beautiful place and I enjoy attempting to capture it in paint.

I divide my time between winters in Portland, Oregon and summers on Hornby Island, B.C. My summer studio is with Fibre artist Diane Smith at 8120 Central Road, Hornby Island. Website
