Tony Grove

BIO

After completing a four-year boatbuilding apprenticeship that started in 1980, Tony Grove’s boatbuilding experiences led him to one day become head instructor at the Silva Bay Shipyard School on Gabriola Island, teaching traditional boat building. Today Tony works for himself as an artist, writer, teacher, woodworker, and boatbuilder at his home studio tucked amongst the trees on Gabriola Island. His love for painting and his appreciation of the beautiful lines of boats are evident in his art, where he explores classic hull shapes with a playful use of light and colour.
